The Reef Restaurant  ~  Olympia, Washington

I was commissioned to create a 52 foot shell wall mosaic for the re-inventing of an Olympia, Washington restaurant. The historic King Solomans Reef Cafe was established in the 1930's and is in the historical part of the city. The new owners wanted to introduce a west coast flavour adding oysters from the Perkins Oyster Farms and other seafood menu items. They wanted to provide a visual reference for the "The Reef" motif. The wall mosaic utilizes all kinds of shells including oysters, clams, muscles, lichens, scallops and moon and drill snails. I consulted on the overall design and provided options for the wildlife that were created to provide a suggestions of creatures but made from shells. The shell wall mosaic flows from the front of the restaurant to the back adding a cohesive eye visual when you first enter the restaurant. A young child was heard to say "can we sit by the octopus". Perfect!

Complete Power  ~  Langley, British Columbia

The owner of Complete Power wanted an art piece for their new office space. I pitched the idea for "Melt Down" as I wanted to do a large piece utilizing the computer mother boards I had been collecting as well as a large amount of multi coloured wire. The art piece has burned out holes that the wire covers have melted into creating mosaic colour flows. The selling slogan..."if you don't use Complete Power you may have a Meltdown!"

Family Grand  ~  West Vancouver, British Columbia

This family owned a Baby Grand piano that had been in the family for almost 100 years. With no room for the piano and some repairs required they wanted a way to keep the legacy of the piano still in the family. I was commissioned to create an art piece that utilized the parts of the piano and even the music sheets from the piano bench. The final art piece now holds it's place in the family home.
